Dancing has been around for ages, and for good reason, too. Dancing is a great way to express yourself, get close to a significant other or even just to let loose after a long day of classes.

Of course, if you’re in St. Louis, Missouri, finding a place to dance is a breeze. But if you’re unfamiliar with the area, or just want to explore some new places to dance the night away, here are six places to go dancing in St. Louis, Missouri.

1. Upstairs Lounge

Open Monday through Sunday from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., this place is the perfect location for your next dancing night out.

The Upstairs Lounge opened in 1990 on Grand Boulevard and has been a hot spot for dancing ever since.

So if you’re looking for night life, a bar and a dance floor that’s active until the wee hours of the morning, this is your place.

2. Club Elite

While there are age restrictions at this night club, for those of you that are of age, it’s a great find.

It’s supposedly the “best kept secret” of St. Louis. That is, until now.

It opened in 2010 and is open until 2:45 a.m. Thursday through Sunday, making it the perfect weekend party spot.

With a playlist largely consisting of R&B and Rap and a young crowd, this is a great place for college juniors and seniors to get away from school and dance the night away.

3. Siam

Siam is unlike anywhere you’ve ever been before. It’s open Wednesday through Sunday until 3 a.m. and it’s probably one of those clubs you’re going to keep coming back to.

The dance floor is described as “intimate,” for those of you that aren’t fans of close-quarters, but with lasers, lights and sound you won’t believe, this is definitely a young, high-speed dance club that most college students will love.

Plus, if you want to stop for food before an intensive night of drinking and dancing, Siam’s Goku Sushi has you covered. It doesn’t get much better than that!

4. Club Viva!

For most, Club Viva! is an exciting change of pace. For those that love dance, it’s exactly where you want to be.

With opportunities for dance lessons, private parties and a culturally diverse atmosphere, this is the place to be.

The club has Reggae Wednesdays and Latin Nights on Thursdays and Saturdays.

And while it may only be open until 1:30 a.m., your feet are going to be exhausted by then anyway.

So if you’re looking for something new, check out Club Viva!

5. Coronado Place & Towers

Coronado Place & Towers (what used to be known as the Lindell Strip) has a new feel to go along with the new name. The completely refurbished building houses a reimagined ballroom (called, fittingly, the Coronado Ballroom) that has already housed a number of student parties.

So students looking for the perfect night out with their friends, or maybe even looking to host one of the biggest parties of the year should turn to Coronado Place & Towers for their next dancing soiree.

6. Blueberry Hill

This restaurant and music club is unique in atmosphere, as you get the full pop-culture feel here.

But of course, the concern here is with the dancing, and that’s why Blueberry Hill makes this list.

It’s called the Duck Room, and it’s the best place to see live music in St. Louis. Get tickets in advance for shows including talents such as Vanessa Carlton and Better Than Ezra’s Kevin Griffin.

Again, it may not be that night club where you top out the night, but it’s certainly a good place to start!

So whether you were born to dance or not, there’s a place out there for everyone. That means if you’ve been craving a night out or just simply want to dance until you can’t anymore, you have somewhere to go.

From modern rap night clubs to salsa dancing extravaganzas, this list is bound to suit your fancy, no matter who you are.

So grab some friends to check out some of these places, grab yourself a drink and you’ll be cutting a rug in no time!
